Achill offers a number of festivals and events throughout the year:

Walks Festival The Achill Walks Festival is held in March and is one of the first events in the Irish walking calendar.	Seafood Festival The Achill Seafood Festival is held in July and celebrates the harvest of the sea.
Scoil Acla Scoil Acla is one of Ireland's oldest summer schools, offering tuition in traditional Irish music, dance and culture.	Yawl Festival Achill yawls are traditional wooden-hulled sailing boats. This summer festival features races between local yawl teams.
St. Patrick's Day Achill provides a traditional Irish celebration of the National Day, including pipe band marches.	New Year Achill is one of the most westerly points in Europe and provides a spectacular location to view the last sundown of the year.
